Bad Apple Rides has pleasure to list this All Original 1938 Buick 40 Special Coupe Project
This 1938 Buick 40 Special Coupe just came out of the long term storage, and it is being offered by the seller as a running project. The seller mentions that he has had the car for the past 5 years and purchased it from an individual who owned it since late 60’s. The power is provided by original 4.1 Straight 8 backed by manual 3 speed transmission. According to the seller, the car starts and yard drives; however, cannot be driven longer distance. He states that the tires are old but hold an air, and the brakes needs to be serviced. There is a perforation on the top of the radiator that leaks when warmed up. The electrical is all there but is original and should be serviced or replaced. The Buick retains its original hubcaps.
The seller points out that the body on this Buick is the best feature of this vehicle as it is arrow straight and rust/rot free. All chrome is present, in great shape and will shine with polishing. The running boards were removed but will be included in the sale. They will need total restoration. The weather stripping is all new and has been installed by the seller in the past year. The butterfly style hood and split window give it that antique and sought after look.
The interior of this Buick is also original and very aged. Even though the headliner is tight and rip free, it is stained. The door panels are also stained and have some rips on the edges. Both bench seats, front and back, have rips and stains. The original three spoke steering wheel is in immaculate condition without any cracks. The seller will include original radio that has been removed and will need total restoration. All the knobs, handles and interior trim is present. The shifter knob is loose and cracked.
