Bad Apple Rides has pleasure to list this rare 1940 Chrysler Windsor 2 Door Coupe

The seller purchased this rare 1940 Chrysler Windsor 2 Door Coupe about 7 years ago from the previous owner who had it approximately 25 years. According to the seller, the coupe is all original with exception of some cosmetic improvements. The power is provided by the original 3.4 L Straight 6 engine that is paired with original 3 speed manual transmission. The coupe is equipped with original drum brakes on all four corners, and does not have any power features such as power steering or power brakes. The four wide white wall tires are in great shape and sit on original rims with original Chrysler hubcaps. The Coupe is also equipped with spot lights on both driver’s and passenger’s side; however, they are not connected and as such do not light up at this moment. The hi/lo lights and brakes lights are in working order. The seller reports no leaks, knocks, smoke or overheating of the engine and states that the Coupe is pleasure to drive.

The all steel body of the Coupe is shot in blue, but there is no evidence this color to be original. The paint is faded and peeled at places and surface rust is present; however, no rot or perforation is noted. The butterfly style hood gives this Coupe a unique look and works as intended. All the chrome and trim are present, in good condition and shine. There is pitting on the back bumper, and the original exhaust is fitted with three split exhaust tip.

The interior of the Coupe is in good condition and door panels along with front and back bench seats were reupholstered in vinyl by previous owner. The carpet is present, clean and rip free. The seller points out that the headliner is clean, rip free but sags and should be fixed. The original gauges in the crack free dash are all in working condition. The original steering wheel is in very good condition with only few surface cracks. The horn is present, but it is not functional. All the original knobs and handles are present with exception of two that are missing. The steering column features shifting lever known as “three on a tree”. The split windshield is crack and chip free and all of the windows are in great condition as well.
