The seller has owned this beautiful 1949 Dodge Wayfarer for the past 7 years and stated that person who he purchased the Dodge from did frame off restoration approximately 3 years before he purchased it. The power is provided by original Inline L-Head 6-cylinder engine that is mated to the Fluid drive transmission. The beauty of the fluid drive transmission is that you can use it either as automatic or shift if you wish so. The stopping is achieved by completely rebuild drum brakes on all four corners, and the Dodge retains its original front and rear end. The hi/lo lights, indicator lights, panel/dash lights and plate light work. The seller states that the car is in excellent shape and very good driver. The Dodge performs well in highway speeds and does not overheat, leak or burn oil. The seller will include original Operation and Shop manual, photo album with the restoration, receipts in excess of 8k and mileage/riding journal for the last 20 years.
The all steel, bondo and rust free body is shot with cream/off white color and is chip/scratch free. The rims are highlighted by the dodge moonie hubcaps. The windshield is ornated by a visor, and all chrome pieces and trim are present and in excellent shape. The front grill chrome is scratch and pitting free.
The interior of this Dodge is very presentable. All the knobs and handles are present and fully functional. The original gauge cluster containing – Speedometer, temp, volt, oil pressure and gas – is in working order. The original three spoke steering wheel is crack free and has working horn.
